What this site is
VettedPad publishes free tools and guides on employment screening and Form I-9 for employers and the people who run hiring for them. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
General information, not legal advice
Everything here is general information about federal, state and local rules as we read them on the date shown on each page. It is not legal advice, and using the site does not create an attorney-client or any other professional relationship. Screening and employment-eligibility rules change, and state and city rules often add steps or longer waits. Before you act on a decision about a real applicant or employee, check the rule's current text and, where the stakes call for it, ask an employment lawyer.
Not a consumer reporting agency
VettedPad does not furnish consumer reports, run background checks or verify anyone's identity or work authorization. Nothing on the site is a consumer report, and the site must not be used as one or as a substitute for one.
The tools
The calculators and checkers apply the rule they cite to the dates and answers you enter. A result is only as good as those inputs, and it does not cover every exception, holiday or local rule. Confirm any deadline that matters against the cited source before you rely on it.
Vendor comparisons and the roster
Comparisons and directory listings are built from vendors' public pages and published lists, read on the date the page shows. Features, accreditation and terms change; confirm them with the vendor before you sign anything. A vendor's place on a page is not an endorsement or a guarantee of its work.
Using the content
You may read, print and share pages and tool results for your own work and your organization's. Please do not republish the site's guides or tools wholesale or present them as your own.
Links to other sites
Pages link to statutes, agency pages and vendors' sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.
