Who runs this site

VettedPad is a free resource site for HR managers and small employers: calculators, checkers and plain guides on background check rules and Form I-9. It is run by VettedPad. The way to reach us is the contact page.

VettedPad is not a consumer reporting agency and not a people-search service. We do not run background checks, sell records about anyone, or keep files on applicants or employees.

What the tools do with what you type

The tools work on dates, counts and yes-or-no answers about your process. They do not ask for names, Social Security numbers, document numbers or any other detail about a real applicant or employee, and you should not enter them. We do not ask you to create an account, and nothing on the site asks for payment.

Traffic measurement

We use two analytics services to see which pages are read and which tools are used.

• Google Analytics 4. Its tag sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell visits and sessions apart; Google lists their default life as two years. It records pages viewed, the page that sent you here, your browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your connection. Google processes this data under its own terms.
• Vercel Web Analytics. Vercel hosts the site. Its analytics counts page views in aggregate without third-party cookies; Vercel says visitors are told apart by a hash of the incoming request that is discarded after 24 hours.

To limit this, you can block cookies in your browser, use a content blocker, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.

Hosting and security logs

Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages see standard request details such as your IP address, browser and the page asked for. Vercel uses them to serve the site and to block abusive traffic. We do not use them to identify you.

Messages you send us

When you write through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you type, by email. We use them only to read and answer your message, keep them only as long as that conversation needs, and never sell or share them for marketing. Please do not include details about an applicant or employee.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent personal information.
• We do not run advertising networks or retargeting pixels on the site.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children; the site is written for employers.

Your requests and changes to this page

To ask what we hold from a message you sent, or to have it deleted, write to us through the contact page. If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
